Working alongside all local clinical commissioning groups throughout Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire, as well as the network of case managers and solicitors we supply, responsive, flexible solutions that deliver maximum choice and independence.
Our clinical infrastructure means that we have a Head of Clinical Care Services and a team of registered nurses with a wealth of combined knowledge, professional expertise and community experience across a wide range of clinical conditions. Their specialisms include tracheostomy care, ventilator care, complex continence needs and gastrostomy to include catheter and stoma care. Our nursing care supports many progressive neurological conditions as well as acquired brain and spinal cord injury.
Managing the whole care process, our clinical team perform full face to face assessments and handpick carefully matched carers and personal assistants to meet the specific need of each customer. Our clinicians oversee the full training and ongoing support needs and ensure continuity and coordination of care through effective carer and customer partnerships. This includes post-discharge rehabilitation plans, nutrition and physiotherapy.
What sets the nursing care team apart is their passion for delivering outcomes to individuals whose needs were deemed perhaps too difficult to support at home. We work collectively with the broader network at NLG Home Care and can, therefore, build teams of care and expertise with and around an individual.
Helping to manage these conditions in the home can require a high level of clinical care, and complex interventions, such as ventilator management.
Brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders, such as muscular dystrophy or motor neurone disease, are all conditions that can lead to the need for ventilation of a patient, ventilator care and support.
We build your care plan and deliver our care around you, understanding your requirements and the nuances of your care.
We are committed to upholding only the highest standards of clinical care whilst in the home. Through our dedicated nurse-led training and supervision teams, we give our nurses and carers the skills and knowledge to be able to support you with care requiring ventilator support.
Our clinical nurses and carers are trained in:
- Administration of oxygen therapy
- Chest percussion
- Continence care – including bowel care, catheterisation and bladder washout
- Cough assist
- Insulin injections and blood sugar monitoring
- Nephrectomy care
- Parkinson’s treatments – Duodopa or APO-go Pump
- Peg-gastrostomy care – including stoma and urostomy care
- Tracheal suction
- Tracheostomy care
- Tracheostomy changes
- Ventilated care – Nippy, BPAP, CPAP ventilation and suctioning
What's more, our robust clinical governance processes ensure that quality, safety, and management of risk are always central to the service we provide. Our nurse-led approach means that our people can proactively support the health and wellbeing of clients requiring ventilated care, and reduce any risks of complexities developing in the home.
